Professional employees, particularly engineers, may operate more freely across borders because of the globe being more interconnected.

The enactment of Engineering Law Number 11 of 2014 as one of the legislative pillars supporting Indonesian engineers’ professional advancement. Therefore, by ensuring the competence and caliber of engineers’ work, this regulation is strong in protecting engineering profession and its users. According to this law, a person must hold an Engineer Registration Certificate (STRI) to perform engineering and have public liability. This law also stipulates that to obtain STRI, a person must hold an Engineer (Ir.) degree from a university and have a Professional Engineer Certificate (SIP) from the Indonesian Engineers (PII).               Forty (40) state and private universities received an assignment mandate from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on April 11, 2016, asking them to meet the establishment and operating authorize requirements. Trisakti University is one of the private universities that has been given this directive.

The Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 668/E/O/2023 concerning permits to Open the Professional Engineer Study Program was issued on August 16, 2023, in Jakarta, establishing Trisakti University as an institution responsible for managing the PSPPI.

The Republic of Indonesia’s Establishment and Operational Decree, which established the Trisakti University Professional Engineer Study Program (PSPPI), certifies that the university satisfies the basic accreditation standards and demonstrates the government’s confidence in Trisakti University as one of the country’s private universities.

The management of Trisakti University’s PSPPI is entrusted to the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) in accordance with Trisakti University Chancellor’s Regulation Number: 22 of 2023 concerning Management of the Trisakti University Professional Engineer Study Program.

The Engineering Department of Trisakti University comprises the following engineering-related faculties: the Department of Industrial Technology, the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning, the Department of Earth and Energy Technology, and the Department of Landscape Architecture and Technology.
